Well the wait has been worth it, the celebrity who will switch on the
2011 Illuminations has been named. Its the presenter from Celebrity Juice -
Keith Lemon - get ready for some near the knuckle humour for this years
Switch on.
Top firework companies from around the globe will be invited to stage
pyrotechnical displays, bringing an International flavour to Central Promenade
during the opening weeks of Blackpool’s World Famous Illuminations season.
To out-shine their opponents, entrants must demonstrate cutting edge
pyro-musical design with a display that represents the style or
traditions of their country.

The Grand Theatre is an 1100-seat theatre designed by
Frank Matcham in 1894. This amazing space is a wonder of
restoration and revival, presenting a full range of every
performing artform, as Blackpool's community theatre,
Lancashire's preferred opera house and Britain's
National Theatre of Variety.
The Tower has been surprising and terrifying people in equal
measure (on a windy day, you can feel the top of the structure
swaying slightly).
It's the centrepiece of the illuminations that light up the
Blackpool seafront every autumn.
